Course: ILETC-TBT-HSp26 - Teaching Written Communication with Text-based Tasks: A language pedagogy training for Spanish Heritage language

ILETC_CILC is offering a virtual training on how to develop text-based tasks for heritage Spanish instruction and integrate these tasks into your existing syllabus. The training will also introduce a variety of strategies for how to implement the tasks in your teaching. Text-based instruction uses texts sourced from target-language speech communities to teach learners how to read texts critically, recognize features in the texts, and create their own texts. This pedagogy has been shown to be highly effective in advancing the linguistic development of heritage language learners; yet, it is rarely included in commercially available textbooks. In this training, you will learn to facilitate language development in a challenging, engaging, and research-tested way.
